The End….

Sunday, January 30th, 2022

I have sadly taken the decision to stop updating this site.  It really is for only personal reference and I just don’t really have the time any longer to be able to keep the content current.  I’ve managed to migrate across to Excel so will keep updating the movies I’ve checked out on there.

It’s been fun, it’s been over a decade but that time has sadly come…

Cheers and bye!

2020 – Review

Wednesday, January 6th, 2021

So that was a crazy year for sure. Being sent to work from home on March 16th meant I had a TV near me during the day and access to more movie watching time, hence the crazy high number of 557 movies for the year. 2021 has kicked off and to be honest I have started with a couple of series rather than movies.

Season 3 of Cobra Kai – slow at times, especially at the start but once it got going was pretty excellent. Nice guest stars though I wish that they had made a bit more of them, rather than briefly in episodes, the rivalry with Chozen could have been much more delved into, feels like a missed opportunity but I did enjoy it.

Also the second season of The Mandalorian – still not fully sold on this one. I like it, I’ll watch it, but I have a few small issues with it where it doesn’t quite hold up for me.

Anyways, we’re into 2021, we have a third lockdown and still no sign of a return to the office, which will probably mean more movies again, though chances of beating 557 from last year, can’t see that happening, but I guess you never fully know…

Stranger Things 2

Tuesday, February 5th, 2019

I watched the second season of Stranger Things and although I am not 100% sold on it, it’s watchable. I think it just jumps around an awful lot which is annoying. The fact that the second season started with a scene with Eight and then they were in it until maybe episode 7. Lots of subtle movie references going on as well, some not so subtle like Star Wars. I was surprised to see Bob (Sean Astin) come a cropper. But, with a third season due in July, I image I’ll also watch this as well.

Stranger Things

Monday, January 21st, 2019

An off topic post here as I finally buckled and decided to check out Stranger Things. The Netflix series that people seem to have been raving about.

It’s a dark, 80’s based series with different parallel dimensions coming together. I’ve just finished season 1. I’ll get onto season 2 soon, not 100% sure I like it or not yet though.

But that’s been a fair amount of movie time lost for a series…

2018 – Review

Thursday, January 3rd, 2019

So there it is, 2018 done and a grand total of 403 movies have been watched. Let’s see what next year brings….

2016 – In Review

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017

So that’s the end of 2016. A total of 345 movies for the year is a very decent score and one that I am very proud of.  Take into account a new daughter came into our world this year, so time with her is of course very important, to be able to still clock up 345 movies is great.  But then on the flipside I am home in the evenings much more than I used to be, hence the potential time for viewing has increased there.

I think for 2017 I’ll set a target of 300 movies and see how we get on with that…

2015 – End Of Year Review

Monday, January 4th, 2016

So a mammoth haul of movies during 2015, a figure I will never, ever reach again.  Things have changed in the last few weeks, my partner has moved in which limits the movie time.  It also means I’ve been watching more things she likes.  For example a series called Once Upon A Time, which is OK, just about.  Basically a fairy tale thing.  And she has further series lined up like Breaking Bad going forward.  So gone are the 2-3 movies per day option, so I think I’ll be lucky to hit 200 during 2016.

Also, we have a new arrival due mid Feb so having a baby around the house again is likely to limit my movie time, but again that’s fine by me.  But really pleased to have seen 451 during 2015, impressive stuff, or maybe that just makes me a total loser?  Either way, I’m not fussed!

2013 – Review

Monday, January 6th, 2014

So I clocked up 272 movies in 2013, I’m honestly surprised that it was that many.  Things have been very busy during the year so I am pleasently surpised at just how well I ended up doing.  I think 2014 will be anothe very busy one for me so again the movies might take a back seat, I reckon it’ll be struggle to beat 2013’s total, but we’ll see how it goes….

2011 – End Of Year Quick Review

Monday, January 2nd, 2012

Damn I came so close to averaging a movie per day.  I’ll probably never come that close ever again, it’s a little gutting to be so close and not quite make it.  But I had Dec 30th in the recording studio and Dec 29th I lost a day because I was at a funeral….but it does make me wonder what could have been….

Also I was pretty impressed to clock up 25 cinema trips.  I know they’re mostly the kids club movies, but that’s fine, my kids love the cinema.

So onto 2012…I have a load of movies already lined up and my first cinema trip for Jan 2nd with the kids already booked.  Time to get clearing that massive pile of DVD’s…..

The end of 2010….310 movies!

Tuesday, January 4th, 2011

In the end I watched 310 movies in 2010!  Not a bad little haul and over double what I thought I might watch!

I’m gonna keep this site going into 2011 as well, just to see how I get on!
